EngExec (the Engineering Executive) is a status given to those who hold executive positions and have demonstrated exceptional leadership and talent.

After an outstanding career that led you to a senior leadership position, attaining the title of EngExec is the next step toward growth in your professional life.

The credential of EngExec Engineers Australia is not limited to engineering professionals and can also include senior business leaders working in the engineering sector but who are not engineers.

Achieving this level also puts an opportunity to play a major role in shaping the future of the Australian engineering profession.

The exclusive nature of this status means that this opportunity to apply for it is only given to a selected group of individuals on an invitation-only basis.

EngExec eligibility criteria and the application process:

A capable candidate will get a detailed invitation letter, which will explain how to apply for the EngExec credential.

It’s not compulsory for you to be an Engineers Australia member to be invited to apply for EngExec. However, if you are not already a member, you will be required to join as an Engineers Australia member in the application process.

The eligibility criteria require you to have 15 or more years of industry experience and hold a senior leadership and management role. You also need to be capable of demonstrating the necessary leadership and management competencies for EngExec and complete a self-assessment if invited to apply.

If feeling that you fulfill the criteria for EngExec but have not received an invitation, email Engineers Australia to express your interest in applying.

Professional interview:

A professional interview with an Engineers Australia assessor is the last step to attain this status.

The authority will be in touch to fix a time for your professional interview with one of its assessors, and you will get an invitation to the online Teams or Skype interview.

This interview will last nearly an hour and will include a wide discussion regarding your engineering career and the responses to the questions you provided in the self-assessment form.
